We, the residents of Austin, are opposed to the systems of apartheid, occupation, genocide, and ethnic cleansing that have oppressed the people of Palestine for the past 75 years. As American consumers and taxpayers, we are complicit in these atrocities.

In 2005, Palestinian civil society issued a call for a global Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement to bring pressure on Israeli companies through targeted consumer boycotts. We agree to assert our values by participating in BDS consumer boycotts, and by supporting any business that pledges to join the Austin Against Apartheid campaign.
